You need to consider a few items when choosing color for your living room. Some people are so used to painting their living room so they generally have a good idea when it comes to blending colors. For those who are not used to painting and matching colors, you have to seek some creative ideas from magazines and the internet. You can start by thinking of a theme for your room. You may also use your favorite color or consider your ideal color combination.

Next, search the right hues or shades to match your chosen theme. You can experiment by getting samples of paint and applying them on a piece of wood or paper to see how they look when combined.

Certain colors can affect the size of the room. Lighter colors make small rooms to look bigger, as they allow more light to enter into the room; thus, the impression of hugeness. If you have a big room and want it to have a warm and cozy atmosphere, choose darker colors. This will also lessen the size of the room so it does not feel too gigantic. Large living rooms with less furniture will look bland and incomplete. Large sectional sofas will suit a big room.
